Tutoring & Mentoring Programme

The programme currently supports 110 learners in Grades 8-12 and is a collaboration between the school Principal, teachers and parents integrating five core areas to build resilient, future-focused graduates/matriculants.

The core areas are as follows:

  • Academic Support: Structured tutoring and subject support to strengthen performance and academic confidence.
  • Digital Learning: Empowering learners with technology skills and digital literacy for the modern world
  • Career Development: Exposure and guidance exploring pathways to help learners develop interests and opportunities beyond high school
  • Parental Support: Equipping parents with tools and training to actively support their children’s educational journey.
  • Personal Development: Leadership and life skills

Our operations are based on the Masiphumelele high school campus with designated office space and access to classrooms after hours Monday through Saturday. Learners are required to maintain strong attendance records to stay in the programme. Tutoring is also offered during school vacations and we sponsor an annual career day on the school campus.

We meet regularly with the High School Principal and key department heads to ensure are program is aligned with the priorities of the school. We have partnered with the Principals Academy Trust to provide best practice advice as to what is being taught and how.

Bursary Programme

We provide bursaries to 145 learners in Grades 8-12 to help cover the costs of school uniforms, stationery, and school fees. Learners are selected by the school staff, and attendance and grades are tracked to ensure learners are progressing and remain eligible for the program. Workshops on school subject choice (Grade 9), career guidance (Grades 10 & 11) and applications for tertiary education are provided during the year. There is also an incentive for learners to participate in the after-school sports and life skills programmes run by our partners at MasiSports.

The bursary programme is administered through our partners at the African Scholars Fund.
